SCORING RULES
- A player may only play on one of the
first 3 lines and/or the 4th line. Players must play in their specific
position. A forward listed as a center must play center.
- For the 4th (Special Teams) line, an
additional forward (any position) and an additional defenseman are played.
- The defensive shutouts are scored by
rewarding the defenseman who on his real team has recorded a shutout. Defensive
Shutouts are scored only once regardless if the defenseman plays on more than
one line.
- If a player did not play in the game
that his NHL team recorded a shutout, he will not receive a DSO in our League.
- Power Play goals and Game Winning goals
will be duplicated. If a power play goal is also a game winning goal,
it will be recorded for both categories on the fourth line.
- Short Handed goals and Game Winning
goals will be duplicated. If a game winning goal is also a short handed
goal, it will be recorded for both categories on the fourth line.
- Power Play Goals will also be recorded
for the Forwards on Line 2 and the Defensemen on Line 3 as straight goals
for those lines.
- Categories with W/L/T 's ( Refer to
Scoresheet) are pitted head to head against the other team. Best numbers (high
or low) are awarded 2 points for a win, 1 for a tie and 0 for a loss. Highest
numbers count for everything except for the PIM. This category goes to the
team with the lowest number of penalty minutes. Line 4 and defensive
shutouts count total points. The W/L/T points plus shutout points from the
Goalies' Scoresheet are added to the Players' totals for a Team Total. Highest
point total is awarded 2 points for the win, 1 for a tie and 0 for a loss
for the game.
- Two Goalies are used for the week.
The stats are combined.
Assists: The assists count one point for each assist and a total is calculated.
GAA: Goalies are pitted head to head. Team with the lowest goals against average
takes the win for 2 points. Goalies must play a minimum of 20 minutes to record
a game played for the calculation of the GAA. The GAA is calculated by the minutes
the goalie played not by the game. (For example: If a goalie played in one game
in the past, his GAA was based on the goals against in relation to the 60-minute
game even if he only played 20 minutes of that game. If he gave up 3 goals in
that one period, his GAA for the game would have been 3.00. Our calculation
for that same goalie will be a 9.00 GAA for that game by extrapolating the goals
he gave up in only 20 minutes.)
Wins/Ties: Goalies receive 1 point for a win and 0.5 points for a tie within the
categories.
Shutouts: Goalies receive a point for each shutout which is added to the Goalies
final tally. After the W/L/T is determined, goalies' shutouts are added to the
Team Total as well.
Save %: Goalies are pitted head to head. Team with the highest save percentage
takes the win for 2 points. The Save % is calculated by adding both goalies
numbers together and then calculating the save %.
- The team with the most points gets the
Goalie Category win of 2 points. In case of a tie, one point is awarded
to each team.
- This number is added to the Team Totals
for the week.
- Goalies' shutouts, additionally, are
added to the Team Totals for the week.
